Registrars or Buyers?

Registration is always used in texts. But this is wrong. There is only purchase, no registration! Freename is registrar, we are only buyers or resellers. EEE even has a page on how to become a Registrar... but it goes nowhere... I am wrong?

Interesting point of view!

The word registration comes from the Web2 world where end users register a domain from a registrar.

You are right, Freename is a registrar, because no registry exist for Web3 domains.
Freename explains it here: https://freename.io/tld-registrar-solutions/

Freename is using the word register for purchases: https://freename.io/how-to-create-your- ... el-domain/
It seems that registering and purchasing a Web3 domains means the same. Am I right?

There seems to be a difference.

From the link above:

To register or mint a TLD, you must first purchase it.

Hence, first you purchase a domain. In the second step you register (= mint) it on the blockchain.

Apparently this is because nothing changes. That is, I bought the .Casino and became a co-owner. Then I registered (mint) the .Casino and should have become a co-Registrar, but nothing happened... At least for me. It just added the Polygon chain icon. Maybe there's something wrong with me?

Everything is right. In the moment you mint your domain, it will be visible on the blockchain. With this step you have created a NFT and have become the real and true owner of this TLD (not only a co-owner). One visible change after the mint is that you will find your domain on OpenSea. More changes are that you can transfer your domain to every other wallet with just a few clicks and you are now able to receive crypto payments to your domain just by letting the payer know your domain name.

I'm sorry Alb, but it looks like you don't know what you're talking about. I understand that you have changed everything many times and in many places there are materials based on screenshots that have long been dead. I ask why nothing has changed in the panel after the minting, and you tell me about beauty of wallets and so many payments. Open yourself a new account FROM PUBLIC WEBSITE and then we'll talk. P.S. If I the TLD owner, why I have just 50% of income? PP.S. Why is the price for SLD set by someone and not me, the owner?

NOTE: Or you are on DEV version and we see APP differently... Please note, Patric 100% on DEV version and he is teaching us...

50 % of the sales price of every SLD goes to Freename, because they need to pay their employees. Without revenues it's not possible.

The TLD owner sets the price for every TLD individually in the section 'customize prices'.
