Will Web3 Make ICANN Obsolete?

New domain name extensions are proliferating to meet the demands of blockchains. As I see it (as the founder of an ICANN-accredited domain name registrar), registering an alternative root domain extension on the blockchain can be faster, cheaper and infinitely more scalable for trademark and business owners than following the traditional new top-level extension model created and enforced by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
